The local economy
Our project positively impacted the local economy by attracting diverse families to the area, fostering community engagement, and generating interest in local businesses. As families attended lessons and events at our center, they often visited nearby shops and cafes, boosting their sales. Furthermore, local musicians and educators involved in the project contributed their services, promoting a culture of collaboration and economic activity within the arts sector.
Volunteering, jobs & education
We created job opportunities for local musicians and teachers, offering them positions to lead classes and workshops. promoting lifelong learning and career development.
Arts, culture & heritage
By providing piano lessons specifically for refugee and asylum-seeking children, our project enriched the local arts scene and promoted cultural diversity. It fostered an appreciation for various musical traditions, allowing children to explore their cultural heritage through music.
Activity, health and leisure
Our project encourages physical and mental well-being through music participation. Learning to play an instrument promotes cognitive development, enhances concentration, and provides an avenue for emotional expression, which is essential for the mental health of children facing challenges. Additionally, music lessons serve as a recreational activity, helping children engage in a productive leisure pursuit rather than facing isolation. Regular group lessons also encourage social interaction, promoting connections among peers and fostering a sense of community belonging.
