The idea
The arts and music education is something that is often seen as a luxury, where instrumental lessons are expensive and not accessible for everyone. While music hubs are available more readily for schools, there are still members of the wider community who love music and would love to learn locally for a price that doesn't bite.
Music is a part of our cultural capital and it brings communities and people together. We would like to offer lessons and community concerts for all ages- not only school children, but also adults and seniors who have been contemplating on music, but it wasn't always accessible for them.
Vivo Music Masters has the aim to unite Barnet's residents through music, and to make the arts an important part of our identity.
What we'll deliver
- Piano and Guitar Group Lessons in Barnet Libraries
- Annual Community Concerts by the locals for the locals
- 1-1 music services at affordable prices
- Securing local jobs for music teachers
Why it's a great idea
This opportunity would allow music instrumental learning to be accessible to all local residents via their libraries for affordable prices.
New jobs will be created for local teachers and graduates.
Annual Concerts held for the community would bring the residents together.
Steps to get it done
- Buying new instruments for the library use
- A storage unit for all instruments
- Employing at least 5 new staff members
- Engaging Music graduates in volunteering events
- Two Annual Concerts
- Free Open Door Events for Everyone
- Expanding to at least 5 Libraries
