Social events and experiences working with local businesses to create opportunities for people to meet and connect in person, whilst exploring cool places in Westminster.
Find it hard to meet people or make real connections in the city? Busy schedules, tight circles, same routines or maybe you have just moved to Westminster? Viibe creates opportunities through social events and activities for people to meet and connect in person, whilst exploring cool local spots in Westminster. Our ethos is to encourage organic connections in person, bringing people together over shared interests regardless of intentions, relationship status or identity. We plan to launch an app that flips the way we meet people to grow the Viibe community and redefine how people meet digitally to facilitate meeting organically in person as it should. We will also plan a launch party to kickstart the beta app and encourage people to sign up, grow the community and spread the word. This would involve hiring a venue, a few social games and icebreaker questions, enjoy good music, food and company to get a feel of what Viibe is about. The event would be filmed and photographed.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
It can be very lonely in the city and difficult to form genuine connections. Viibe can make a social impact on mental health and wellbeing by encouraging interactions in person, creating excitement and a sense of community and belonging. We believe our events can also be great opportunities for people who may suffer from social anxiety, shyness, loneliness or depression by improving social skills in a more relaxed environment. In a social setting where people regardless of intentions, relationship status or identity come together, this takes the pressure away to just make the most of the opportunities of being in a social setting. Our vision is to make meeting and engaging with people a lot easier. Viibe can also benefit businesses through collaborations and partnerships by creating buzz in local areas and bringing in new customers through our socials and creative marketing. It also gives a chance for people to explore new places in London.
Steps to get it done:
Whilst Westminster borough has fantastic tourist spots and is an easy meeting place for people to come in to the hub of the city, it lacks togetherness. Being centrally located as a long time local of Westminster for 17 years, one thing I wished the borough had was more of a sense of community. I barely get a chance to really meet locals. How I will target Westminster people initially would be through local advertising and marketing, sharing flyers in local cafes or businesses in Westminster, reaching out to residential groups or societies, through word of mouth, and hopefully getting businesses on board to run socials at their venues and promoting to their own social media.
