- Construction of the new bespoke bike track to accommodate all abilities
Why it's a great idea
Victory Park offers the largest green space within the parish of Cainscross. The free to use community bike track will benefit both young children and their parents as well as older children, teenagers, and more experienced riders. The approved plans will transform the existing bike track into a circuit of rollers, banked turns and features that have been carefully designed to be accessible to bike riders of all abilities.
The benefits of the bike track extend far beyond the project, cycling is has the ability to be part of day to day life, improving health and fitness, tackling inactivity and promoting positive mental health as well as delivering environmental and social improvements to whole communities.
Steps to get it done
- Work with the contractor to start the build as soon as the funding target has been reached
- Build a partnership with Access Bike to improve accessibility for low income residents
- Cainscross Town council will fund annual maintenance works
With many families incomes effected by the pandemic and young people’s wellbeing disproportionally affected, we feel this is now more important than ever to provide the community with sustainable, fun activities.
In order to ensure that as many local people as possible can make use of the bike track, we are talking with Access Bike to guarantee that low income families wont be left out.
