Through conversation-based activities, My Colourful Memories enhances Quality-of-Life for people with dementia. Our focus is on conversational activities and snippets of stories that may spark a sudden interest in the participant.
Person-centred care means we tailor activities to the individual rather than linking them to event-themed activities. As dementia advances, participants will likely reflect/draw more on their past. In the early stages, recent memories and new memories are commonly affected.
Our arts-based health practice has been the subject of five years of academic research. Using conversational art-based approaches, we provide non-medical methods for relieving anxiety and distress associated with dementia. Additionally, we provide conversational-based activity books for people with dementia. Carers and family members can access resources for people with dementia through our website www.mycolourfulmemories.co.uk. and www.mycolourfulmemories-direct.co.uk
