We are a social enterprise called HOTA health on the agenda LTD but we operate under SchoolofCreate .
We started in 2008 running health and wellness programs with the PCN in communities and now we run educational programs on wellbeing using sewing, up cycling in furniture, jewellery and clothes and teach how to sell what you make.
We offer a safe space in Vauxhall and have referrals onto our programs as well as some paying for the courses.
we have 5 professional volunteers that have came from the recovery community and they run the community cookery programs etc with a view to gaining confidence to teach in the future and recruit from the recovery community.
our background is creative we can't deny that and realise that the creative process supports the CanDo attitude in our learners and it's this that has moved the team and community to address up cycling issues in the community. We already have tip collectors of leather, furniture etc but we want to look at household waste and creative ways to turn plastic to purpose, clothes to cash, furniture to fashionable items repainted and ready to sell etc. We don't just operate in Vauxhall ee have learners from the wider Merseyside areas but we asked the local area what can we do and we came up with our new project.
