The idea
We've worked hard to develop our junior section over the past 2 seasons. We want to regain that momentum after this enforced break due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
It's hard to retain the interest of children when they won't have potentially played the sport for over a year so we want to invest in new equipment and improvements to our junior facilities to make ours a club they want to come back to and be involved with.
We'd like to invest in the training of more coaches as we look to expand further, increasing the number of members and junior teams.
Our philosophy for our junior cricket is that it should be affordable for all. We charge a minimal amount for membership and look to supply all the equipment required to train and play. We want to break down barriers to the sport and welcome children from all areas and backgrounds to our club.
What we'll deliver
- New training and playing equipment for our junior section
- New artificial playing surface to assist with coaching
- Synthetic roll out wicket to increase playing opportunities for juniors
- 2 additional ECB level 2 coaches
Why it's a great idea
Our aim is to introduce children to a sport we love. In doing that we hope to get them active, outdoors and having fun whilst learning new skills as well as how to be part of a team.
Funding will enable us to provide everything required to do this without passing the costs on to the children's parents and guardians.
We don't want cost to provide a barrier to our sport for any of our members.
Steps to get it done
- Purchase new cricket playing and training equipment
- Create new artificial playing surface area to assist training ability
- Purchase synthetic playing surface to increase opportunities to play
- Pay for ECB Level 2 coaching courses for 2 new coaches
