About the Peter Brook Centre Trust
The Peter Brook Centre (PBC), nestled in the scenic landscape of North Wales, has a long-standing history of enriching young lives through outdoor education. From 1974 to 2010, the Centre was owned and operated by Colne Valley High School in Huddersfield, providing thousands of students with residential learning experiences that fostered personal growth, resilience, and a deep connection to nature.
Since 2018, the Peter Brook Centre Trust—a volunteer-led organisation based in the Colne Valley—has been working to restore and revitalise the Centre. Our vision is to reopen the facility as a community resource, accessible to a wide range of groups including local schools, Scout and Guide groups, walking, cycling, and climbing clubs, and other organisations seeking the benefits of outdoor learning and recreation.
A core part of our mission is to ensure that the Centre is inclusive and accessible, particularly for economically disadvantaged families and community groups. We are also committed to building strong partnerships with organisations in the Conwy area, fostering cross-community engagement and shared use of this unique space.
The Trust is driven by volunteers who bring with them passion, local knowledge and commitment. With your support, we aim to complete the renovation and fully realise the Centre’s potential as a hub for education, wellbeing, and community connection.
