The Urban Arts Experience Bus

London Urban Arts Academy By London Urban Arts Academy

This project will fund the design, equipment, branding and security of the Urban Arts Experience Bus - a mobile music studio - to work with young people on deprived estates.

pledged of £26,640

Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.

Due to the recent cuts in funding for youth projects many youth clubs all over the nation have been closed. With little venues left to deliver our interventions we were recently presented with an opportunity to purchase a single decker mobile media studio bus. It was commissioned to attract young people through music.

The rear section was utilised as a tutorial room, which seats 9 people including the tutor. The company who was funded by the council was liquidated.

After purchasing the bus we realised that the functions and security are all out-dated and we need funding for equipment and ensure it is safe for young people. In addition to this, the awning is broken which will prevent us from engaging young people outside the bus and we need funding to rebrand and we want to have this bus ready for the summer so we can take it to estates all over London to give positive activities for the people of the future, our young people. We cannot do that without your help.

What we'll deliver:

  • WE WILL CREATE POSITIVE CHANGE AND INSPIRE YOUNG PEOPLE AND COMMUNITIES
  • We will get the outside of the vehicle designed and wrapped
  • We will install a security system and immobilier for the bus
  • We will install new software and equipment to make the facilities state of the art for the young people that use it.

Why it's a great idea:

This is a great idea as there is such a need for these types of services for young people. We will be able to bring the workshops to the streets and give qualifications on the doorsteps of young people wanting to achieve more with their lives.

With your help to get the bus fully functional, secure and branded appropriately, we will approach sponsors who could sponsor the running costs of the bus so we can offer these services free to young people & highly subsidised to youth groups.

With your help, we can make this happen!

We will be eternally grateful for £2 or anything you find in your heart to give, we know how hard it is at the moment so if you can't donate if you could share it with your networks we would really appreciate it!

The first phase we are fundraising for is to make the bus safe and add some technical capabilities. Any surplus will be spent on more equipment to further upgrade the technical abilities of the bus.

Thanks again for taking the time to read our campaign!

Steps to get it done:

  • Awning - We will drive the bus to The Bus Business who will repair the awning and LED lights
  • Our technical volunteer has identifed all the required resources and will order funded items
  • Security - we will install CCTV cameras and panic alarms at the front and back of the bus
  • Service testing - test all functions of the bus
  • Essential Equipment Upgrade - Fitter will install new software and equipment
  • Stripping of previous brand - Our team of volunteers will strip the bus of existing vinyl stickers to save money

Your pledge may be a small or big but you will be contributing to something that will be changing and improving the lives of so many. You will help us to offer the best experience possible and we thank you sincerely! On the top of that, you could also get:
