The idea
We are delivering a series of 3–4 community pop-up market events across London, designed to support local entrepreneurs, young people, and small businesses.
Thee Market Plug creates accessible, low-cost trading opportunities while also providing a safe, inclusive space for the wider community to connect, shop, and engage. Each event will host 20–40 vendors, alongside music, family-friendly activities, and community engagement.
Our markets particularly support individuals from underrepresented and low-income backgrounds, helping them generate income, test business ideas, and build confidence.
Having already delivered over 15 successful events, we are now looking to expand sustainably, ensuring these spaces remain accessible and impactful.
What we'll deliver
- 3 more events in enfield
- 20–40 vendors per event
- Family-friendly activities (music, entertainment, children’s engagement)
- Opportunities for local businesses to generate income
- Community engagement and networking opportunities
Why it's a great idea
Many aspiring entrepreneurs and small businesses face high barriers to entry, including expensive stall fees, lack of exposure, and limited access to supportive environments.
In areas like Enfield and other London boroughs, there is also a lack of safe, inclusive community spaces where people can come together positively.
Thee Market Plug addresses this by:
Providing affordable trading opportunities
Supporting local economic growth
Creating community-led events that bring people together
Without this, many small businesses would struggle to access opportunities to grow, and communities miss out on safe, engaging local events.
Steps to get it done
- confirm event date and location
- secure necessary permissions
- open vendor application and confirm traders
- promote event on social media, flyers & community networks
- fill up vendor spaces
