The idea

Crowdfunding is for the pilot/first of 10 murals .

Commissioning 10 world class artists to paint 10 thought provoking murals in Fleetwood. Alongside the murals we will run workshops within local schools, youth centres or service providers within the local area.

Working closely with local community service providers we aim to create visually inspiring, meaningful pieces of public art that raise awareness of current social issues and educate the public of helpful resources, whilst highlighting the important work being done in these areas.

We hope to achieve this goal in 2 years. Producing the murals in blocks at a steady pace to keep the traction and attention on Fleetwood. A steady flow of new art appearing will help to create a growing community engagement and ownership.

The project isn't just about art; it's an investment in our future. These murals will revitalise our city, drive tourism and boost local businesses.
Most importantly, they'll spark conversations and inspire change

What we'll deliver

  • Produce 1 of the total 10 murals
  • Community Workshops: Engage locals in mural creation, fostering unity and creativity.
  • Vibrant Urban Revival: Transform neglected areas into lively, inspiring spaces.
  • Tourism Boost: Attract visitors, benefiting local businesses and our economy.
  • Inspiration & Dialogue: Spark conversations and positive change through murals.
  • Inclusivity & Connection: Involve the community, strengthening bonds.
  • Inspiring Town: Create an inclusive, stunning town with Big Hearts.

Why it's a great idea

The project offers numerous town benefits. It encourages unity as residents collaborate on striking murals. These artworks enrich our town's cultural vibrancy.
Tourism drawn by the murals stimulates local businesses, boosting our economy and job opportunities. These murals also serve as catalysts for vital social conversations, breaking stigmas and raising awareness on critical issues.
Inclusivity is key as our diverse community actively participates in mural creation, ensuring representation of various voices and experiences. Additionally, engaging in art can empower individuals and enhance school curricula, providing therapeutic benefits and personal growth opportunities.
The Big Heart Project revitalises public spaces, promotes unity, and creates a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere. Research supports the potential for such initiatives to revitalise communities, boost local economies, and drive positive social change, making our town an even better place to live, work, and visit.

These murals will effectively direct those seeking assistance to the specific services and resources provided by our partner organisations.

This collaborative approach highlights the power of collective action. By working together, we can create a stronger, more supportive network within our community, where individuals in need can easily access the help they require.

Through this partnership, the Big Heart Project aims to celebrate and support the vital work of these organisations while creating a more connected and compassionate community. An opportunity for us to come together and make a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.
