The idea
The Barford Festival is the spectacular summer fundraiser for Barford Primary school in Norfolk.
Organised by a small handful of parents with the support of the school, local residents and businesses, the festival has evolved over the last 8 years into a mini Glastonbury Festival featuring local bands, walkabout theatre, stilt walkers, cocktail bar, beer tent, art and music workshops, food concessions, circus workshops etc etc.
By no means is it an easy task to be a parent, go to work and organise a festival in your spare time but the success of the event, the joy and close community spirit it brings to Barford makes it a very special day and all the hard work worth while. It’s truly wonderful how the local pub, village hall, local play group, businesses, restaurants and musicians all support the Barford Festival.
What we'll deliver
- All profit is donated back to the local community
Why it's a great idea
The Festival is not only a fun filled day, we also raise money for the local community. We also provide a platform for musicians and theatre groups to perform on. Local children also get involved and perform, but most importantly the event is staged by the community, generating a fantastic atmosphere within the village.
Steps to get it done
- We are blessed with a group of volunteers, who have delivered the Festival 8 years in a row
