The idea
Our project involves the continuation of our current programme and weekly workshops, whilst leading towards a larger and exciting goal of a whole cast performance, to take place at a local, accessible theatre:
Beginners (4-7yrs)
Children (8-11yrs)
Youth (12-16yrs)
Company (16+)
These groups will work towards performance opportunities devised by themselves, within the workshops. Funding will enable us to offer professional experiences such as guest workshop leaders who are experts in their field - for example: masks, physical theatre, storytelling, and crafts. Our members will have the opportunity to explore a range of art forms within their workshops that provide the building blocks for a member-led, large scale production.
What we'll deliver
- Theatre Workshops (4-7yrs)
- Theatre Workshops (8-11yrs)
- Theatre Workshops (12-16yrs)

- Performance Opportunity for All groups (4-65yrs)
Why it's a great idea
Being part of Cotton Shed means belonging to a community where every individual is valued. Our workshops create a safe space filled with joy, laughter, friendship & shared experiences. Our members and their families experience many benefits such as increased wellbeing, happiness, fulfilment and reduced isolation.
Our members will benefit from seeing their ideas being brought to life - leading to an increase in positive mental attitudes, increased self-esteem and the ability to express themselves creatively.
Through participation in our weekly sessions, we prepare our members to navigate the world with self-assurance; knowing that they matter and deserve to be given a leading role!
