Gardening to Combat Anxiety & Loneliness

Support for people with Social Anxiety Disorder to practice functioning in social settings through greenspace projects and supporting residents who are unable to care for their green space / gardens.

We need people to offer skills, time or resources to develop this project. Check what’s needed below, then click ‘Volunteer’ to get involved.

  • Ornamental Pots (e.g. Terracotta Pots of any size)
  • Plants suitable for gardens or pots that require low maintenance - e.g Cordeline, Foxgloves, Crocosmia, Euphorbia, Geranium, Hosta - all suggestions and offers are welcome.
  • Manual lawnmower in good working order
  • Wheel barrow in good working order
  • Garden tubs and garden waste bags
  • Volunteer support to run the project - we're looking for volunteers who are keen gardeners and able to donate their time to support running the service and work with programme participants. Must be prepared to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
  • Seeds for fruit, vegetables and flowering plants.
  • Gardening Tools - spades, shovels, shears, secateurs, rakes etc - all offers are welcome.
  • IT equipment - smart phones and tablets
