The idea
We would like to purchase two large picnic tables so that visitors to our ground can sit and watch cricket or just look at the amazing view of the Malvern Hills!
Alongside this we would love to brighten the front of our pavilion with hanging baskets and planters. We also have the opportunity to plant trees along a former hedge line, greening the space further.
Our large BBQ needs replacing and we would like to purchase a new one, this brings groups together as it has been used in the past for other community groups.
What we'll deliver
- Plant 6 native trees
- Purchase 2 large picnic tables
- Install four hanging baskets and four planters
- Replace our large BBQ
Why it's a great idea
Making people healthier in mind, body and spirit is our ultimate aim.
It's not the cricket, its the people and place that matters most. The health benefits of coming together and taking part in activity is why we are seeking crowdfunding to make our setting even more attractive.
In the last two years we have established a women's and girls section, now with over 20 players. This season we have teamed up with local fitness provider Freedom Leisure to give walking cricketers access to our facilities. In addition to this our thriving junior section now has three teams.
We hope that in brightening our area with trees, hanging baskets and planters it will make our setting greener and the BBQ and picnic tables will allow our community to feel more connected
Steps to get it done
- 1st May 2024 Purchase Hanging Baskets, Planters, Trees,Picnic Tables and BBQ
The Glebe is shared with Hanley Castle High School and the students use the space during the school day for lessons and their breaks. Brightening the pavilion and providing additional seating that can be shared will encourage the pupils to enjoy the facility when the cricket club are not using the field.
