The idea
- x3 outdoor picnic benches for our pupils and local community businesses who visit our school
-x3 reading huts for outdoor learning, nurture sessions and community mental health classes , these can also be used at our HAF Free school meal clubs giving a place to sit , learn , socialise. This will also benefit our Care home friends when they visit.
We want to make these huts comfy and with a chilled environment to support those with SEN , Mental health struggles and social anxiety feel more calm giving it a relaxed feel for those who struggle by including x6 pillows , x3 blankets and x3 outdoor fairy lights to do this.
By achieving our goals we hope that we can create areas for our pupils , businesses we work with closely and also the wide community when hosting PTA events like our Annual Fayres...
Our children benefitted massively from our outdoor space supporting their fitness, confidence and helping them in their performative lessons.
What we'll deliver
- Outdoor tables and benches
- Reading huts with nurturing feel
- Outdoor performance stage
Why it's a great idea
For our project we are looking to create learning spaces across our grounds for our pupils and the community. Our children enjoy learning outside and benefit from this massively in their nurture sessions with our pupils , wildlife classes , young carer sessions and charity events through our PTA team.
How it will benefit the community -
We host multiple events open the Blacon community including coffee mornings ,summer fayres etc.. We currently have no seating or areas for adults to socialise and this would benefit our older visitors who struggle to stand.
Wilderness tribe -
This community business use our grounds for supporting men's mental health , they will also have access to the outdoor seating area for their sessions.
Our pupils also work closely with local care homes and ' Here & Now '.If we got our reading huts and benches then we could have them visit our school to do more activities like reading and crafts outside. This will benefit them by getting them out socialising.
