Thanet District Council has launched the Thanet Together Fundraiser to support the organisations who are providing assistance to Thanet’s most vulnerable residents during the COVID-19 crisis. We are aware that lots of people want to help but with the increase in online shopping the opportunity to donate food is reduced. Thanet District Council has given £9,500 to the provision of immediate food for those who are vulnerable but we are asking you to help us increase this. All donations will either be given directly to registered food banks who support residents across the borough, or be used by Thanet District Council to purchase food and essential items for distribution to those food banks or directly to residents in need. By working together we can support each other through this crisis #KentTogether

Why it's a great idea:
The food banks provide an essential localised service to those most in need of support in our community. Not only do we want to feed our most vulnerable residents now, we also see this as an opportunity to keep helping people through the ‘recovery’ phase of this pandemic. We’re going to support community projects, provide education and put some simple wellbeing plans into place for residents who most need that help.
