HELPING TETBURY ARTS CENTRE RECOVER
We need help after Covid to replace the canopy over our popular Whistlestop Cafe serving mums & dads (from the children's play area) as well as the public in general who want coffee or a bite to eat.
About the Project Creator
We are theTetbury Railway Lands Regeneration Trust running the Tetbury Goods Shed Arts centre & the popular Whistlestop Café housed in the old railway buildings off Cirencester Road. We run a busy programme of classical & popular musical concerts, drama productions, art exhibitions, talks - as well as the adjacent toddlers' playground & provide refreshments for ramblers, strollers & dog-lovers.
The Trust depends for its survival on fundraising. The Whistlestop Café makes an important contribution to our budgets but cannot by itself cover the costs of all the community, musical & artistic events that we offer. Ticket prices are controlled by the conditions of our charitable status so proceeds are moderate. The Pandemic has depleted our reserves; the Chancellor has raised the VAT rate very significantly; much of our initial infrastructure needs renovation. We know from enthusiastic post-Covid audiences there is a good demand for what we offer but our costs have continued to increase. The Trustees are working hard to ensure the long-term viability of the Goodshed Arts Centre but we are going to need your support to help maintain the ship in the meantime. PS - The café serves a full range of refreshments not just coffee. Marvellous cakes & superb lunch bites. At present the public have to queue for treats & then sit under a worn-out canopy.
