TCD is a Kirklees-based mental health charity dedicated to reducing social isolation and promoting wellbeing across culturally diverse communities. Drawing on lived experience of being bereaved by suicide, TCD was created to ensure that no one has to face mental health challenges alone. Our mission is to break stigma, provide safe and inclusive spaces, and empower individuals to access support before reaching crisis.
We run a wide range of activities designed to bring people together and create visible, meaningful impact in our community. Backers will see indoor and outdoor spaces transformed into welcoming hubs for wellbeing and creativity. This includes vibrant community venues, accessible gardens and parks, spaces for movement and mindfulness, and rooms for workshops and group discussions. Regular “Wellbeing Chat” sessions allow participants to share experiences in a supportive, non-judgemental environment, while creative and movement workshops encourage engagement, skill-building, and confidence.
Volunteers are central to everything we do. Backers will see their support enable local residents to take an active role in co-designing and running activities, developing peer networks, and creating lasting connections. Spaces will be equipped with resources and materials for arts, fitness, and outdoor activities, alongside visual features and signage that showcase community creativity and pride.
Through this campaign, TCD will enhance and expand these spaces, making them accessible year-round and suitable for multiple community uses. Backers will witness tangible improvements in both indoor and outdoor facilities, with clear evidence of community ownership, participation, and engagement.
Supporting TCD means helping to create safe, engaging, and inclusive spaces where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect, learn, and thrive. Backers will see a visible legacy of wellbeing, creativity, and social connection across Kirklees, making a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.
