The idea
TCD is a local mental health charity dedicated to reducing social isolation and promoting wellbeing across Kirklees. We provide inclusive, welcoming spaces where people can connect, move, and talk openly about mental health without fear of judgement. Our activities include wellbeing walks, creative workshops, group discussions, awareness campaigns, and community events — all designed to help individuals feel valued, supported, and part of something positive.
We believe that people make places great, and by coming together we can create stronger, kinder, and more resilient communities. Through Growing Great Places, we want to expand our reach, create more opportunities for connection, and ensure that everyone — regardless of background or circumstance — has access to safe spaces for wellbeing and belonging.
Your support will help us continue to build a movement of hope across Kirklees, where people feel empowered to talk about mental health and support one another.

Why it's a great idea
Our project will bring people together to improve mental health, reduce isolation, and build stronger, more connected communities across Kirklees. TCD empowers local residents to play an active role in creating change — through volunteering, peer support, and community-led wellbeing activities.
Volunteers help to plan and lead sessions, offer a listening ear, and inspire others through their lived experience. This builds confidence, skills, and a sense of purpose while strengthening local networks of care and understanding.
By supporting TCD, you’ll help create safe spaces where people feel valued, supported, and encouraged to grow. The project will leave a lasting impact — empowering communities to support one another, breaking the stigma around mental health, and building a more compassionate Kirklees where everyone has the chance to thrive.
