The idea
TBIFF transforms Morecambe into a cultural destination, bringing world-class cinema to one of England's most deprived areas. Over 10 days in January 2026, we'll screen international and Northern shorts and features, and heritage films across multiple venues. Morecambe has only one mainstream cinema serving England's 10% most deprived areas. Residents lack access to diverse films and cultural experiences. We want to benefit 500+ people including families facing financial barriers, young filmmakers, and isolated community members. Our programming champions accessibility through free tickets, sliding scale ticket prices, and community film clubs with refreshments. By combining global cinema with deep community engagement, we're fostering cultural regeneration, breaking down financial barriers, and proving that transformative arts experiences can thrive in coastal towns. Join us in democratising cinema access while celebrating Morecambe Bay's unique creative potential.
What we'll deliver
