More about our impact
The environment
So far, over 4 repair cafes we have saved broken items being sent to landfill by repairing them. We have fixed 65 items we think, varying fromeklectrrical repairs to needlework repairs to knife sharpening. We estimate we have saved 1560kg CO2 in the first four Repair Cafes
The local economy
We reduced consumption by fixing things, removing th eneed to replace them by buying again
Volunteering, jobs & education
We have currently a rota of 10 volunteers who com eto the repair cafe, held each month and fix things for two hours. Additionally there is a project team of 5 people
Arts, culture & heritage
This generated community coheasiveness,, Everybody that comes has a good time, they give us donations, even though we do not ask for any
Activity, health and leisure
We also actually have a cafe that we run in the hired rooms used for the repair cafe. People come have have tea/coffee/biscuits and chat and can also read newsheets, literature about climate change
