The idea
With the backing of Swanley Town Council, we are planning to move into our new ground, ready for the 2023/24 season. To create an enjoyable and safe area for our players, club members and supporters, the club have highlighted areas in the current buildings and facilities that don't meet our needs. Several buildings require renovation to make them fit for use. One building needing attention will be a physio room to allow a professional and gender-neutral space for player treatment. Another will be a new kitchen room to offer pitch side food and drinks, which will require new cooking and storage equipment. This room will be divided to house our club shop.
So we can offer all-year-round rugby and training to all club sections, our designated training pitch needs to be floodlit with LED lights and a container to house our training equipment.
The current pitch side stand, offering spectators shelter, needs repair work and painting with additional seating and access for disabled users.
What we'll deliver
- Kitchen Facilities
- Training Pitch Flood Lights
- Pitch side barriers for advertising and spectator safety
- Electronic Score Board
- Physio Room
- Pitch Side Stand Seating
Why it's a great idea
We will be able to offer all year-round rugby to residents in the local and surrounding areas for anyone regardless of age, gender, ability and disability. We will be able to open the club up to minority rugby groups, including offering walking rugby to less abled members, hosting after-school training sessions to under 18 children and growing our current sections of the club, including the youth, men's and women's teams, with the long term plan of being a sports hub for the community.
