The idea

We are currently in the process of obtaining our events license for the 27th staging of this festival. In the extremely unlikely event we are unable to do so, this event would not go ahead and your money will not be collected.

The Surbiton Festival brings together musicians, artists and performers to offer free entertainment, including a midday street parade featuring community groups, two live music stages that showcase local singers and bands, dance performances, and a family/children's zone, full of games, inflatables, Punch & Judy and a petting farm set in the glorious surroundings of Claremont Gardens. There is also a street market of artisan stalls and food outlets aplenty.

All the entertainment is presented free to the public to produce an event that is open and accessible to all.

Owing to a substantial increase in festival operating costs and a drop in funding, the provision of free activities is under threat, which risks restricting the scale and appeal of the event.

What we'll deliver

  • Free LIVE music performances by local artists
  • Children’s entertainment
  • Local dance groups - all ages
  • Support for local Scout Band
  • Support for Royal British Legion band

Why it's a great idea

The Surbiton Festival has evolved over the years, broadening its appeal and thereby giving back more to the community.

The festival is for the whole town and surrounding area. It is for people of all ages. Its impact is broad - it brings people together, showcases LOCAL musical and artistic talent, from young school-friends' bands, to mature relaxed jazz groups. It gives community groups an opportunity to perform in public, helps businesses and promotes the town... and ultimately is there for the people to enjoy themselves and have fun!

In recent years, there have been two live music stages; a performance area for marching bands, choirs and dance groups; and a dedicated family & children's zone with rides, attractions and games. All of this was provided free to the whole community.

With your help, we can continue to build on the progress we've made, and work towards making the festival bigger and stronger.
