Malvern service continues to grow thanks to community support

Worcester News

The support provided through this project has helped Maggs establish a lasting presence in Malvern. Since the original crowdfunding campaign, our work has continued to develop, including the launch of a new fortnightly outreach drop-in at Malvern Town Football Club, extending our reach and helping even more people experiencing homelessness or severe hardship access the support they need. This demonstrates how the investment made by our supporters has created a lasting legacy for the local commun

More about our impact

More about our impact

The environment

The environment

While the primary focus of this project was supporting people experiencing homelessness, it has also delivered environmental benefits by making good use of donated clothing, household items and essential goods that may otherwise have gone to waste. Through partnerships with local organisations and community donations, we have been able to redistribute resources to people who need them most, reducing waste while providing practical support. We have also continued to work locally, reducing unnecessary travel by ensuring people in the Malvern area can access support closer to home.

The local economy

The local economy

The project has helped strengthen the local community by ensuring people experiencing homelessness or severe hardship can access support before their circumstances reach crisis point. Working alongside local partners, volunteers and community organisations has strengthened networks across Malvern and encouraged collaboration to address homelessness locally. By helping people access housing, benefits, healthcare and wider support services, the project has also reduced pressure on other public services while demonstrating Malvern's commitment to being a compassionate and inclusive community.

Volunteering, jobs & education

Volunteering, jobs & education

The project has continued to create meaningful volunteering opportunities within the Malvern community, enabling local people to use their time and skills to support those experiencing homelessness and severe hardship. Volunteers have played an important role in welcoming people into the service, providing practical support, serving refreshments and helping create a safe, friendly and inclusive environment. Alongside volunteering, the project has strengthened learning and partnership opportunities by working with local organisations, raising awareness of homelessness and helping build greater understanding of the challenges people face. This has contributed to a more informed and compassionate local community while supporting the long-term sustainability of services in Malvern.

Arts, culture & heritage

Arts, culture & heritage

While the primary focus of this project was supporting people experiencing homelessness, it has helped strengthen the culture of compassion, inclusion and community within Malvern. By bringing together volunteers, local organisations and residents to support vulnerable members of the community, the project has encouraged greater understanding of homelessness and demonstrated the positive impact communities can have when they work together.

Activity, health and leisure

Activity, health and leisure

The project has helped improve the health and wellbeing of people experiencing homelessness and severe hardship by providing a safe, welcoming environment where individuals can access practical support, social connection and advice. Through referrals into healthcare and specialist services, alongside access to food, warmth and essential items, the project has supported people to improve both their physical and mental wellbeing. The service has also helped reduce social isolation by creating opportunities for people to connect with staff, volunteers and the wider community.
