The idea
We want to be able to continue with our plans for improving our ground and to ensure that we have the best facilities we can have for all our members and opponents.
Whilst we were able to do some ground maintenance before the start of the season we were hoping to be able to raise enough funds to allow us to carry out shock waving to our ground during the course of the season. It is hoped that we will be able to raise enough money to allow us to carry this out and ensure that we are able to improve the drainage.
Should we raise more than our original target we will look to carry out the following work:
- There is some maintenance work required to our site screens that will need to be completed at the end of the season.
- There are also repairs to the nets that need to be considered should funding be available.
For the first time we will be playing a number of women's and girls matches on our pitches and this will also require additional maintenance and expenditure.
What we'll deliver
- Continue to improve the drainage on the main pitch
- Carry out the maintenance on the site screens
- Repair the nets
- Maintain the Club's pitches to offer an improved playing surface for men's, ladies, girls and junior cricketers
Why it's a great idea
We had hoped to be able to fund this work through annual membership fees and our normal fundraising activities (Sportsman's dinner/bar takings at matches/training and other social events). As this is no longer possible due to the Government restrictions we need to look at other fundraising options. Any support received via this campaign will help us to ensure that we are able to maintain our facilities for all our senior and junior members and to encourage new men, women, boys and girls to join our Club.
