We’ve just opened Redz! — a vibrant new youth-led space in Stroud — to give local young people a home to connect, create, and grow. With The RYSE, the Youth Assembly and other inspiring groups already making Redz their home , it's a Youth for Youth hub with huge potential. But to thrive, they need your help!
We're raising Pay It Forward funding so youth can host free sessions for their peers, plus seed funding to launch 10 new youth-led groups and support for them to connect with young changemakers across the UK. This is about building a self-organised, inclusive space where young people lead the way — with Stroud Community Space simply supporting in the background.
Your support will help make Redz a sustainable, welcoming, and truly youth-powered home for creativity, connection and community. Let’s build it — together.
What we'll deliver:
- Hundreds of hours of free rental sessions for Youth Led Groups!
- Start-up funds to launch 10 new youth groups/projects!
- Linking and Travel for young Stroudies to connect with other Youth Hubs and Projects across the UK and beyond!
Why it's a great idea:
Redz will be a game-changing space for young people in Stroud — a place to gather, create, organise, and support each other. With so few youth spaces in town, many feel isolated, especially since covid, fueling the mental health crisis. Redz changes that by putting young people in charge of building their own supportive, social and creative community.
We're seeking support for three key funding goals:
1) Pay-it-forward funding so young people can hire the space and run hundreds of free sessions for each other.
2) Seed funding for 10 new youth-led groups — from art and film clubs to study groups and much more!
3) Funding to connect with youth groups across the UK — building solidarity and inspiration from town to town.
By backing Redz, we’re telling Stroud’s youth they belong — and that their creativity and leadership matter. With an ageing population and young people still leaving town, investing in them isn’t optional — it’s vital for Stroud’s future.
Steps to get it done:
- We'll organise a specific strategy session with the Youth Leaders to explain the funding
- Together we'll open applications for Seed Funding
- Together we'll open proposals for Connection Trips and Hosting
- Together we'll organise a quota for fairly divvying up the 'Paid Forward' hours
