Nothing pleases FLM more than being to help people get to a social event when they otherwise would struggle. Obiously our priority is keeping our service going. It should be noted we don't charge for this service, indeed we can't charge. This is done as a "social good". A totally voluntary donation is always acceptable. Drivers: To support such events we need a pool of community drivers. These are volunteers and will not be paid. Such peope are prepared to go through the full FLM training and induction. This includes DBS checking and Midas training. All costs and expenses are borne by FLM. Without our pool of community volunteers we simply cannot support such events. First & Last Mile (FLM) is a CIC that has been running community bus services since January 2022. In that time we have developed the 411 & 418 bus services connecting Eynsham, Hanborough Station and Standlake. In addition we ran a very popular school service to Bartholomew School. These services have reached the point where a larger operator was able tther o take them over. We are now looking to build on this experience by reconnecting furisolated communities and filling remaining gaps in transport provision primarily in West Oxfordshire.

FLM has always been keen to innovate. We were the first community bus in the country to use the Bus Open Data Service (BODS). One of the few community bus operators to be part of the Government's Bus Fare Cap scheme. Also we fully integrated paid and volunteer roles across the company. We worked with local authorities and commercial bus companies to improve connectivity. We were inaugural partners in the countywide MyBus ticketing scheme, offering cheaper fares. Also we developed a school bus service from nothing to the point where it should and will be provided by a commercial operator.

Fundamental to our business is developing very strong links with the local communities we serve.

We're the first community bus to be included in the regional mycelium map. We were included in the National Community Cookbook and have been featured in international publications.

We are proud to say that as an equal opportunity organisation many of our leading roles have always been filled by women in a traditionally male dominated industry!
