The idea

Since the first one in 2000, the Kelvedon Community Festival has provided a fun, family friendly day of live music, local acts and stalls and throughout the years has remained free to enter. Featuring two stages of live music, a silent disco tent, a kids zone and stalls from around the local area, the festival has become an integral part of the community. The festival will be taking place this year on Saturday 14th July.

What we'll deliver

  • A truly unique community event with the widest range of music of any festival in the local area
  • A commitment to keep the festival free to enter, and therefore accessible to all members of the community

Why it's a great idea

Last year, the festival was supported by a crowdfunding page delivered by JustGiving. The festival is a non-profit event, and is organised and delivered by a team of volunteers from Kelvedon and the surrounding area. Without the support of the public, last year's festival would not have been able to go ahead. This year, we are looking to ensure that the festival is available for future generations to enjoy and to continue to bring the community together to celebrate what makes Kelvedon such a great place to live!

Steps to get it done

  • Secure sponsorship
  • Book acts for main stage
  • Order programmes
  • Book tents and marquees
  • Arrange toilet hire
  • Book stall holders
  • Arrange generators for power
  • Set up site
  • Book security
  • Book acts for second stage
  • Book DJs for Silent Disco tent
  • Arrange refuse collection
  • Book photography and videography
  • Confirm volunteers, stewards and marshals

We are looking to raise enough money to cover three areas of funding: the event sound and lighting hire, the silent disco equipment and the fire extinguisher hire. The event is funded by sponsorship and advertising, funding raising events, sales from the beer tent and donations from the public both in the lead up to the event and on the day itself. These three items have been chosen as their total cost represents the equivalent figure we are looking to raise. Any additional funds raised go towards securing the future of the festival for years to come and all committee members are volunteers, giving their time, effort and expertise for free.
