Maintain the beautiful grounds and wooden clubhouse. Help to pay the overheads and outgoings of running the club.
The Club' s wooden clubhouse and worksheds need continual maintenance, in particular the roof to the machinery shed needs replacing and both the clubhouse and scorebox need external treatment. The beautiful grounds, square and net facilities continue to need to be kept in top condition and ready for the commencement of cricket.

Why it's a great idea:
During the lockdown, the clubhouse remains closed. No cricket is allowed until at least 1st July. We cannot open the bar and run social events (such as the popular annual 6 aside). Being able to offer any cricket, we have decided not to ask for payment of subscriptions at this time. Thus we have NO INCOME. We still have overheads of approx. £10,000 pa. We are likely to be running into a deficit of several thousand of pounds. As a member, past or present, this is your club. We owe it those who have gone before us to preserve and enhance Hagley CC. We owe it to current and future players yet to discover the joy of playing cricket at Hagley. Any money you can spare, £10, £20 or more, will be greatly appreciated so that we can continue to host cricket and social functions. As a local resident or business, we are blessed to have such a beautiful green space on our our doorstep where children and adults can take part during the summer. We must preserve this. We cannot let Covid-19 beat us.

Thanks to all our supporters for your pledges. The fund has a set closing date of the 30th June, 7 days time.. Please spread the message that the club needs all the funds it can raise towards its outgoings. If you could pledge an additional amount that would be fantastic. Some of the youth groups have started small coaching sessions this week. Adult members are able to use the nets and also organise small group sessions. So we are beginning to put on cricket for our membership. To date, we are not asking membership subs. The hope is that monies raised from the crowd funding appeal may enable us to continue this policy. Thus we need as many members as possible to "buy into" the fundraising appeal.

Wow!. Fantastic surge of additional support over the last day. My thanks to Fady who engineered such a reaction with his missive on What's App that must have subliminal powers or is it his charm?. We have printed some flyers that hopefully will be distributed shortly around top Hagley. There will be some at the club and others available to hand out to any friends or family, you may feel will support us. Thanks again.

VolunteerHagley Cricket Club is 185 years old. We are a small club providing cricket for youngsters and adults. We are ony open in the summer months. We rely on income derived from membership, the bar and social events Thus the present Covid-19 crisis has impacted the income needed to pay the overheads of running a club. In particular, the maintenance of the clubhouse that is wooden is an ongoing concern with work always needed.
Project Owner: Hagley Cricket Club The Project Owner takes legal responsibility for receiving and spending the funds raised and ensuring the project is delivered.
