A local Blacksmith has created a bespoke Welcome to Steyning sign with multi flower planters and hanging baskets. Also a life size silhouette of St Cuthman pushing his mother in a cart. All presented on a decorative small hard standing placed on the green space opposite Steyning Catholic Church on the south entrance to Steyning. This is a Steyning-in-Bloom project.
What we'll deliver:
- A stunning floral entrance to Steyning
Why it's a great idea:
Steyning-in Bloom is a small group of volunteers dedicated to improve the appearance of the town using floral displays and also competitions to improve the appearance of resident's gardens, allotments and business premises. This hopefully leads to a much better social environment, encourages tourism and helps protect our thriving High Street. This project of a new stunning and bespoke floral sign to one of the main entrances to the town is a major extension to Steyning-in Blooms work and objectives.
Steps to get it done:
- To have the planters made and installed by the end of April 2019
St Cuthman is part of the Town's heritage and any visitor is encouraged to visit St Andrews and St Cuthman Church and search out the story. The silhouette is a replica of the one WSCC show on all the Steyning road signs and will be life size along side the floral display.
