The idea
In these times of strife and division, with incidents of hate crime rising community unity is key, now more than ever. Stroud Unity Shindig will bring together communities in the Stroud District through a mini-festival dedicated to celebrating the town’s rich multi-cultural diversity - a vibrant mix of music, art, dance, cuisine and sport. Beyond its festive atmosphere, Stroud Unity Shindig aims to foster mutual understanding and meaningful connections among residents, breaking down stereotypes and encouraging social harmony. By highlighting the unique multi-cultural contributions of the district’s communities, Stroud Unity Shindig seeks to nurture a shared sense of identity and belonging. This inclusive celebration invites all to embrace the diversity that makes Stroud remarkable. Dancing together, sharing food with one another, experiencing. music, art and dance in companionship helps us as a community to stand together in unity for shared values of respect and inclusion.

- Consultation with local community groups regarding content of Stroud Unity Shindig
- Consulting with venue owners, cafes and pubs.
- Booking /confirming artists, performers and other content
- Securing venues if hiring required
- Producing a programme of events
- Designing programme, posters leaflets and printing
- Creating social media presence
- Marketing - press outlets, social media, leaflet drops
- Ensuring all legal obligations met, insurance /health and safety , safeguarding
