The idea
Events range from live music and street performances to heritage walks, sustainability workshops, food events and local sporting activities including boxing, GAA, soccer and traditional skittles.
Many events are small, community-led gatherings in quirky locations, streets and public spaces across the neighbourhood. Anyone in the community can propose and run an event, creating opportunities for neighbours to share their skills, culture and interests while welcoming new members of the community.
The highlight of the weekend is the Family Fun Day on Sunday, with 2 miles of street traffic free, transforming the street into a vibrant public space with live stages, children’s activities, local food vendors and community stalls.
Funding will support staging, sound equipment, safety management and accessibility measures to ensure the festival remains safe, inclusive and open to all.
