Stacksteads Lantern Parade

We started the project in early summer with a small group of volunteers who planted night scented flowers and riverbank flowers. This increased flora diversity along the river and therefore more wildlife alongside the Irwell. We organised workshops with professional artists for the month of September to repair and create Lanterns and all the work culmintaed in a Lantern Walk along the river in October.

On the day we had a jazz band and drummers in the parade and offered refreshments at the end of the walk
