Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
We’re crowdfunding to support vulnerable residents during the coronavirus outbreak. Money raised will go directly to ensure our most vulnerable get the support and help they need. #StHelensTogether
St Helens Together has been set up to support our most vulnerable residents during the Coronavirus outbreak. A range of organisations are coming together to offer support to communities across the borough. St Helens Together, through our Community Hub is working with a range of partners providing food to those who need it most, including delivering emergency food parcels to people who cannot leave their home to shop or cannot afford food due to the current crisis and we need to keep this stocked over the coming weeks. To do this we need your help! The Fund has been kick started with donations of £25,000 from St Helens Council and £25,000 from the Torus Foundation - can we match this with a further £25,000? We are also providing volunteer support to residents who cannot leave their homes by picking up shopping and supplies, collecting and delivering medication, helping people get connected and supporting well-being for our isolated residents. Together we’ll get through this!
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The St Helens Together campaign, led by St Helens Council, Torus, St Helens Clinical Commissioning Group, local partners and a growing army of volunteers have been working hard to create a Community Hub to help distribute food and essential supplies to those identified as most at risk and requiring shielding from Coronavirus (COVID-19). The council and partners have been working to identify this “shielded” group as well as other vulnerable people and families across St Helens in urgent need of support and help. Supplies have been generously donated by residents, local businesses, Ambassadors and various community groups. Packages are then put together using a list of basic food and toiletries and then distributed to those identified as vulnerable and at risk. Over the coming weeks those identified as most at risk and vulnerable group will continue to receive support and supplies and we are asking for your help to ensure that we can provide the much-needed food and essential supplies.
