Mansfield District Council is working with partners including Mansfield 103.2, Mansfield Children's Centres, Foodshare, Food On Our Doorstep clubs, and the Gift of Christmas group to ensure our most vulnerable residents are not hit by food insecurity over the Christmas period.
We are also working with Mansfield Children's Centres and temporary housing to identify people who will benefit from receiving a gift from the community to open on Christmas Day.
As the Covid-19 pandemic continues, we are under serious pressure to help those affected. Ill health, isolation, loneliness and pockets of deprivation are very real in Mansfield right now and worsened by the spread of Covid-19.
Humanitarian recovery work is going on behind the scenes to support those who are most in need, including those in financial difficulty, those with poor mental and physical health and our elderly residents. This project will help achieve community togetherness in our district to make a small step to improving health and wellbeing during the pandemic.
