Southport Model Railway Society formed nearly fifty years ago. We meet twice weekly and build and operate our layouts at our historic clubhouse on Portland Street, which was part of the Liverpool Crosby and Southport Railway's original station at Eastbank Lane and was opened in 1847. We also put on exhibitions of our work and that of other modellers, attend exhibitions out of town with our layouts, undertake outside visits to places of interest and hold talks and film nights which are open to non-members. We have between 15 and 25 members and offer a friendly welcome to new members of all ages. We are able to offer running facilities in all the popular model railway gauges and have an extensive library and hospitality facility.
