This project fulfilled the forecast, by providing work to a choir leader and a film maker, by delivering weekly choir sessions to four different choirs, three of whom were Preston- based, made up of members of the Preston community, in particular, Ingol, Brookfield, Ribbleton and Lostock Hall. We interviewed and chatted about people's memories and the songs attached to them, both within the choirs, and at two care homes and one over 50s coffee morning. We arranged and practised a number of the songs identified and performed them at our concerts, three of which took place at the two care homes and one over 50s coffee morning mentioned above. We made a film of some of the interviews and covered some of the songs and memories that were not included in the final concerts, just because we couldn't do them all!
Activity, health and leisure
Many participants live alone and a number of them have health conditions, including one lady with cancer who reported improved breathing from attending singing sessions.
