The idea
Enfield Council has launched the Small Business Hardship Fund to support our small and micro businesses during the Coronavirus outbreak and during recovery. Small businesses are at the heart of our local community here in Enfield and we recognise the huge contribution small businesses make to our local economy, workforce, residents and visitors in Enfield.
Whilst many businesses have received support from the Government through the Council, many more have not. We’ve created a crowdfunding project so that other larger businesses whose circumstances allow, can donate a token gesture to provide support to those micro/small struggling businesses who have not benefited through any of the existing Government support measures.
All money raised will go directly to those micro/smaller businesses that meet a set of criteria to ensure they get the support and help they need during this period.
What we'll deliver
- Offer funding to micro/smaller businesses, to look after their families whilst their businesses remain out of operation
Why it's a great idea
Micro and small businesses make Enfield a great place to live, shop and visit. Enfield has a small and vibrant business economy with over 88% of its businesses falling in the SME category employing up to 9 staff, many employ local residents. Due to COVID-19, many businesses have either temporarily closed or have had a sharp drop in trade. It is these micro/small businesses, their passion and commitment to Enfield that has created our thriving borough and its proud history. Therefore, we need to ensure these businesses continue to thrive in Enfield and your contribution will help these businesses have the best possible chance of getting back on their feet.
