Shireshead CC are hoping to fund a range of practice equipment such as two self-feeding bowling machines ('Feed Buddy)', and a set of practice balls to go with it.
The 'Feed Buddy' enables individuals to practice on their own as it is an automated feeder system. The cost is 85 pounds each and we aim to purchase two. This means that players can practice on their own and coaches can focus on developing techniques rather than feeding balls. They will be available for use by seniors, ladies and juniors to develop technique and facilitate coaching.

The project will increase the quality of coaching as the coaches can focus more on technique rather than ball feeding. The individual user can take responsibility for developing their own game at any time. It will increase the range of experiences available at practice sessions and other times to enable players to develop specific batting skills.

VolunteerShireshead and Forton Cricket Club host three senior teams who play in the Westmoreland Cricket League. We are proud to runs under 11s, under 14s and two under 16s teams, and since its inception the All Stars project has proved extremely popular and well attended. We also runs a growing ladies section. The club draws from the surrounding area as far as Lancaster to the north and Garstang to the south. All the age groups have a practice night each week and a rising number of volunteer coaches ensure fun,enjoyment and skill development are central to the experience.
The club is also the social centre for the village of Forton with the clubhouse bar being popular and social events throughout the year take place tht are open to all.
Central to the success of the club are the committee who meet monthly to discuss and plan for the future, and volunteers who give up their own time for free to prepare, improve and maintain club facilties.
