We are planning 2 street parties, one in Dewsbury & the other in Huddersfield. These will celebrate our writings around the Queen's Jubilee. We are making a video of the days capturing the celebrations so that this can be kept as an historical account of Yorkshire and the jubilee. We work alongside 2 local cafes where the parties will be held outside/inside. We want as many people as possible to get involved. Free refreshments will be served on the days. We need your help to cover the cost of the jubilee parties over two days at both cafes. Costs include refreshments/equipment ie.outside tables/chairs etc, and to cover the cost of licences. We are all working together to create writings, poems and photography to be able to deliver at the jubilee parties, where members of the public will be invited to attend.

• Provide free refreshments

Why it's a great idea:

Bringing together communities, people from lower income or impoverished backgrounds. all inclusive of age, religion, sex & experience to celebrate and be part of a part of history. We are promoters of the Arts, encouraging people to read and write. We will be working with other similar organisations, local cafes and local schools. This will be a 'feel good' project that includes everyone.

Steps to get it done:

• to be able to fund our community groups to keep going and providing members with a wonderful, artistic, safe place
• to continue to reduce isolation and loneliness and build strong communities

We are a constituted community group and have been running successfully now for 3.5 years, this would be a magical experience to be involved in, that would benefit individuals and the community as a whole. This is an exceptional time, and we all feel that because of current climate problems i.e. Covid/war, this is exactly what is needed.
