The idea

Sirens & Sparkles First Aid CIC offers inclusive first aid training to children aged 5–15 across Bexley and Bromley, with a strong focus on those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Our fun, hands-on sessions teach life-saving skills like calling 999, helping someone who is unconscious, treating bleeding, and CPR.

We use visual aids, sensory tools, and Widgit-supported resources to ensure all children can take part and succeed.

With your support, we aim to deliver up to 15 free sessions in schools and community venues, reaching 200 children per year.

Funding will help cover venue hire, trainer fees, inclusive resources,
certificates, empowering young people to respond with confidence in emergencies.

What we'll deliver

  • Up to 20 free first aid training sessions across Bexley and Bromley per year
  • Sessions for children aged 5–15, including those with SEND
  • Lessons held in local venues like libraries, schools, and community halls
  • Hands-on training covering CPR, recovery position, bleeding, burns, and calling 999
  • Sensory-friendly resources, visual aids, and Widgit-supported materials
  • A certificate and take-home pack for each child
  • Marketing materials and outreach to local families and groups
  • Photos, posters, and regular updates showing sessions in action

Why it's a great idea

Our project will empower children aged 5–15, including those with SEND, with vital first aid skills that could one day save a life.

It builds confidence, promotes safety awareness, and encourages kindness and responsibility.

Children will learn how to stay calm in emergencies, call for help, and provide basic care until help arrives.

The community gains young lifesavers who are more prepared and aware. By making training inclusive and accessible, we break down barriers for SEND learners and promote equality in health education.
