Sirens & Sparkles First Aid CIC is a not-for-profit community interest company based in Bexley, London. We provide inclusive, child-friendly first aid training for children aged 5–15, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and mainstream learners.
Our mission is simple: to make first aid accessible, engaging, and empowering for all children, regardless of ability or background.
Emergencies can happen anywhere — at home, school, or in the community - and children are often the first to respond. Our sessions teach life-saving skills such as calling 999, the recovery position, treating bleeding and burns, and teddy bear CPR for younger children.
What makes us different is our inclusive approach. Every session is adapted to support a wide range of learning needs. We use visual aids, Widgit-supported instructions, sensory tools, and hands-on activities to make learning fun and accessible for all.
Sirens & Sparkles was founded by Rosina Rushen, a qualified First Aider with over 20 years of first aid experience and 8 years running a youth group where first aid was a core part of learning. As someone who has experience of the SEND community, Rosina saw a clear need for first aid training that truly includes everyone.
This campaign is about meeting that need — and creating confident young lifesavers.
Through this Spacehive campaign, we aim to deliver 10–15 free first aid sessions a year across Bexley and Bromley, reaching up to 200 children. These sessions will be held in schools, libraries, and community venues, and will include take-home resources and certificates for every participant.
Funding will help us cover venue hire, trainer fees, inclusive learning materials, activity kits, certificates, and local outreach. As a Community Interest Company, 100% of what we raise goes directly into delivering and growing our community work.
This campaign will help lay the foundations for long-term access to inclusive first aid across the boroughs. With your support, we can empower more children to become confident young lifesavers — no matter their ability or background.
