The Saint John Southworth Trust is a Catholic Academy Trust with two secondary schools and five primary schools. The trust is increasing year on year to serve more children within our community.
Our mission is to create a community of schools, built in solidarity and operating by subsidiarity, to give our pupils all they need to grow. Our schools model unity in diversity, together, but unique and work for the formation and achievement of all their pupils.
The schools within the Trust are ever aware of the increasing financial pressure on all schools and we are aiming to make a difference to support all schools in developing their educational offer for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
We are seeking funding to establish a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Resource Hub that will serve as a transformative support centre for educators and parents working with children and young people with SEN. This hub will offer three core services:
-
A centre for ongoing professional training and development for teachers and support staff.
-
A resource loan system to provide schools with access to high-quality specialist teaching tools, assistive technologies, and sensory equipment.
-
A support centre for parents to gather information and how they might support their children.
With funding support, we can create a shared, cost-effective, and sustainable infrastructure that will improve the quality of education for pupils with SEN and support schools in building inclusive environments where all children can thrive.
