More about our impact
The environment
City Harvest have donated a lot of food for the Luncheon Club and cooking clubs. City Harvest is a charity that rescues food from supermarkets that would otherwise be thrown away. They then distribute to other charities. In our community garden we grow our own vegetables, and use whenever we can.
The local economy
Reducing financial strain by providing food for elderly residents, and children who use our service.
Volunteering, jobs & education
We created new opportunities for local people to share their skills with the wider community.
Arts, culture & heritage
Through the cooking club we introduce a diverse range of cultures by researching and preparing food from around the world.
Activity, health and leisure
Our cooking club promotes healthy eating by using fresh ingredients, and healthier alternatives. The luncheon club reduces social isolation as well as serving healthy, nutritious meals to those in need. As one of the residents said, "The food is amazing, but the best part of this, for me, is to be able to talk to others".
