Dear Supporters We’re writing with the exciting news that we have been shortlisted for a grant from LNER which will fund an amazing project taking singing to people who will benefit the most. We need your vote to get us through to the next stage - deadline TODAY! As you know. singing with others has been shown to have numerous benefits to mental health. This project will train members of the Sing for Freedom Choir as Mental Health Champions, to go out and co-lead workshops with communities who have suffered most during the pandemic on the benefits of singing for mental health. It will lead to a new Mixed uP Chorus for all in Leytonstone, East London. Dear Supporters Thanks to your wonderful generosity during the 2019 crowdfunding campaign the Sing for Freedom Choir has managed to keep going. In January they put on an amazing performance at London's Union Chapel. Lockdown has been tough with members facing numerous challenges, not least the digital exclusion faced by many who do not have devices, data or technology to get online at home. But the choir have managed to keep rehearsing and have made their first music video! It will be premiered next week at Freedom From Torture's Resilience Festival and we would LOVE it if you could come along. More information here: https://www.freedomfromtorture.org/events/ResilienceFestival Thanks again for supporting this amazing choir and helping them to survive and thrive.
Dear Supporters Thanks to your generosity the Sing for Freedom Choir is restarting rehearsals this week. They will be meeting on Thursday lunchtimes at the offices of Freedom From Torture in Isledon Road London N7. We are opening up the choir to new members this term, so if you are interested and able to attend please do get in touch to find out about coming along to one of our taster sessions this week or next - contact [email protected]. Meanwhile thanks again and we will be in touch about upcoming performances and events! Best wishes the Sing for Freedom and Together Productions team.
Dear Friends and Supporters Yesterday the Sing for Freedom steering committee met to plan the restarting of rehearsals and performances for the choir this term! THANK YOU ALL for your generosity in helping us to get to this point. We have been so moved and heart-warmed to receive your messages of support and pledges. Your funding will enable us to take the vital first step of getting the choir back up on its feet and rehearsing again, and we will be in touch soon with more information and invitations. This is however just a first step. We will be continuing with our fundraising efforts as the sum raised so far will just secure the choirs short term future. Please do continue to share the campaign for the final day as widely as you can, and if you have any thoughts or suggestions about supporting the choir in the longer term please get in touch. We welcome your ongoing support. Thank you again, all at Together Productions and the Sing for Freedom Choir
Dear supporters Thanks to your generosity we will soon be re-starting rehearsals and getting the choir back on its feet again. The steering committee are meeting next week to make plans for this term and next. As we are in the overfunding phase of the campaign this now means that your pledges will be taken up shortly after the 22nd March (as opposed to the original earlier deadline of 18th February). If this is a problem for you and you would rather transfer the donation earlier please contact us. In the meantime, donations are still coming in so do continue to spread the word and THANK YOU for your ongoing support.
Whoop, 240 people have pledged since fundraising began!

Brilliant news - this morning we've exceeded our funding target. THANK YOU to all of you who've helped us to get this far. It's been so heartening to have the support and backing of so many, we've had donations and messages from all over the world. The choir can now restart which is FANTASTIC news, and we are already making plans for the first rehearsal. In the meantime, the crowdfunder remains open to overfunding, so please do continue to share and encourage friends to support. The fundraising target is enough to get the choir up and running again, but any additional funds will help us to ensure its long term future and that it not only survives but thrives. Thank you all again for your generosity and support.
