Charlie is Fair-Well’s vintage milk float who has been going around Camden and North London for the last 3 years to deliver food and household products as part of Fair-Well’s refill service, drastically reducing plastic waste.
Lately, Charlie has been showing some serious signs of weakness, related to his batteries. A professional assessment has established that his batteries were at the end of their career, and not powerful enough to continue delivering in our catchment area which is full of beautiful hills.
We fitted a new set of 24 new more powerful battery cells. Now, we need to change the shelves and doors, and add extra battery features in order to reduce his overall weight and optimize his energy efficiency.
At the moment, we just can’t absorb these extra costs, as we had a series of financial challenges. Our future is now in jeopardy and we need help to maintain our activity. We need your help to save Charlie!
What we'll deliver:

- A digital picture with you and Charlie
- Our eternal gratitude

- New Containers for Food Stocking and Van
- Brand visual design for the new doors
- Reach the big milestone of 200K plastic saved from ending up in landfills
Charlie, the milk float, has a special place in people's heart. This year we celebrate our 3rd year in business and Charlies 50's birthday; 50 years of environmental and community commitment.
The reason we are organising this crowdfunding is because we can't absorb the costs required to keep Charlie on the road, but we don't want to give up and we want to continue this journey that started and developed thanks to your help.
This year, your generosity and care will help maintain a unique business.
