The idea
The project aims to restore the 1st Norley Scout Hut on Crabmill Lane, Norley, transitioning it from a storage facility back into a vibrant community hub for local youth. Following the failure of plans to construct a new Scout Hut at the JNCOT Village Hall site due to legal issues, the trustees resolved to revitalise the existing site as a permanent home for the 1st Norley Scout Group. With an £85K refurbishment budget, £40K has already been raised, and efforts are underway to secure the remaining funds. The project will benefit around 65 young Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts aged 6–14, supported by 15 dedicated volunteer leaders. Refurbishing the hut will enable young people to continue participating in engaging weekly activities, camps, and programmes designed to foster their physical, mental, and spiritual growth, ensuring long-term support and opportunities for future generations.
