We're excited to announce the acquisition of a historic piece of land in Mossley, Bloxwich, once home to a vibrant football club, now lying dormant for over 15 years. Our children's football club aims to revive this site, restoring its former glory as the community's heart and soul. In its current state, the ground needs significant renovation. We're seeking funding to develop a facility that not only serves its primary purpose—football—but also becomes a free, multifunctional community hub. Our vision includes hosting coffee mornings, Slimming World meetings, community groups, local school events, and providing free sports education. This project will offer volunteering opportunities and potential career paths in the football sector, benefiting the entire community. Together, let's bring this cherished landmark back to life!

What we'll deliver:

  • We will refurbish the site to establish a year-round football pitch for children.
  • Establish a secure perimeter around the facility to prevent vandalism and ensure the safety of children.
  • Refresh the topsoil for the pitch
  • Fund sessions for girls & coaches

Why it's a great idea:

Primarily a children's football club, we chose the Bloxwich ground due to the area's high deprivation ranking. Anti-social behavior and low education levels underscore the need for our project, which promises significant benefits to the community. Through generous donations, we aim to develop a facility accessible to all community groups, including youth and education groups, Scouts, Brownies, Slimming World, Man v Fat, and the local primary school. Our goal is to attract both children and adults to our facility, using football as a tool to impart valuable life skills like discipline, respect, teamwork, dedication, commitment, and social skills. We will offer voluntary roles to those 16+ and provide free FA qualifications for personal and professional development. By doing so, we hope to become a community focal point and offer children a positive outlet.

Steps to get it done:

  • Purchasing and installation of the Boundary fencing and gate.
  • Hiring skips to remove any debris from the ground.
  • Hiring a Rotovator to essentially 'plough' the pitch to a dirt state.
  • Remove the clay from the top corner of the field by use of a Mini Digger.
  • Purchase of top soil to replace the clay and level the pitch.
  • Purchase and use sand to level the pitch.
  • Purchase and use grass seed to overseed the pitch.
  • Creation of Girls Football Academy sessions.
  • Creation of Mini Kickers sessions.

At our club, we believe in making football accessible to everyone, which is why we provide all our services for free. The only payment required from members is when they join a team to play games. We understand that financial constraints can be a barrier, so we offer a financial support option for families in our community and club who may struggle to cover the costs for their children. Without this support, many children might miss out on participating in sports and activities, often ending up roaming the streets. Our program allows families to apply for partial or full coverage of the costs, ensuring that children can continue playing regardless of their financial situation. Additionally, we provide football boots and equipment to those in need on a completely anonymous basis. Our mission is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to play, learn, and grow through football, fostering a sense of community and support. Join us in making a difference.
