The idea
With no cricket - professional or amateur - being allowed until July 1 at the earliest we haven't been able to do our usual fundraising events or raise money through playing and social membership.
Also our bar and function rooms have been closed.
This has left us without income so the projects we had wanted to fund including, repairs to the square after vandalism, much-needed servicing of grounds equipment and the development of the changing rooms have had to be put on hold.
Plus bills are still coming through the door.
We'd also put plans in place for a big push on junior cricket with an emphasis on attracting women and girls to the club in order to set up a women's team. This requires investment to get it started.
The ECB has pledged £100 if we hit at least £100 towards our target so we decided to set up this crowdfunding page!
We want Rotherham Town CC to be a vibrant place for the whole community once this crisis is over and with your help we can get there!
What we'll deliver
- Help pay for critical overheads during the COVID-19 crisis
- Cover ground running costs and equipment maintenance
- Help us begin work to make our changing facilities suitable for all
- Help repair the square after vandalism
Why it's a great idea
The project will enable us to get cricket underway as soon as the authorities allow us. Clifton Lane is an oasis of green near the centre of Rotherham and we want the club to be a place where people can come and play a sport they love in comfort with their friends.
We want Rotherham Town to survive this crisis and thrive for many more years to come as place for people to build memories with their friends an families.
Steps to get it done
- Maintenance of equipment
You may have seen in the local media about the vandalism we suffered to the square during the spring.
The square still needs lots of repairs doing to it which have been hampered by COVID-19 restrictions. We would appreciate help in this area too so we can begin long-term restoration to the most prized bit of grass at our Clifton Lane ground!
